Role in Sikh Struggle

Having witnessed the 1984 riots in Delhi as a young girl, she was shaken by the atrocity with which Sikhs were killed. Ever since, she has been voicing the concerns of Sikhs on national and international platforms and is working towards strengthening the Sikh community.

She has been a champion in fighting for the cause of 1984 victims and has been raising her voice in the Parliament on the issue of justice denied to the victims of 1984 carnage. With her vociferous and emphatic speech in Lok Sabha, she has put across the injustice firmly on the parliamentary table.

She is working tenaciously so that the victims and survivors of the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots get the justice that has eluded them for the last 30 years. It was because of her unremitting efforts that the centre announced to launch and initiative to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to go into the 1984 Sikh genocide cases and urged Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to releash Rs 5 lakh compensation to the victims of the riot.
