Harsimrat Kaur Badal was born on 25th July, 1966 to S.S. Majithia and Sukhmanjur Majithia in Delhi. Born into a family that traces their roots to Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s era, she is the great granddaughter of Attar Singh majithia, a prominent general in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s army. Her family are also the founder of the prominent newspaper of Punjab being published in Chandigarh, known as ‘The Tribune’.
Born and bred in Delhi, Harsimrat Kaur Badal did her schooling from Loreto Convent School, New Delhi. And after graduating from school, went on to pursue a three-year degree in Textile Design from Delhi University. She had actually begun her professional life as a merchandiser in a textile firm, before switching over to politics and social work.
